MINUTES
PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Monday, July 22, 2019 7:30 A.M.
Call to Order, Roll Call, and Establishment of a Quorum.
Chairman Chassee called the meeting to order at 7:30am. Roll Call found Brown,
Birch Ferguson, Swiatek, Gagliardi and Short.
Alderman Hallett was not in attendance.
Approval of Minutes.
A. Public Affairs Committee Minutes of June 24, 2019. Alderman Swiatek
made a motion, seconded by Alderman Brown to approve the minutes of the Public
Affairs Committee meeting. Voting Aye: Chairman Chassee, Alderman Brown,
Birch Ferguson, Swiatek, Gagliardi and Short. Voting Nay: 0. Motion carried.
Public Participation / Presentations.
A. Sara Phalen — Locations for the Prairie Path Bike Trail Historical Signs
Items for Consent.
A. Homecoming — Wheaton Academy - Alderman Swiatek made a motion,
seconded by Alderman Brown. Voting Aye: Chairman Chassee, Alderman Brown,
Birch Ferguson, Swiatek, Gagliardi and Short. Voting Nay: 0. Motion carried.
B. Pran Pratistha & Pray Event - Alderman Swiatek made a motion, seconded
by Alderman Brown. Voting Aye: Chairman Chassee, Alderman Brown, Birch
Ferguson, Swiatek, Gagliardi and Short. Voting Nay: 0. Motion carried.
Items for Discussion.
A. Rental Licensing Program — Property owner, Tom Masterson spoke in front
of the Committee asking for Staff to review and possibly revise the current ordinance
on Rental License and Inspection. Chairman Chassee directed Staff to review the
ordinance and fees.

A. West Chicago Police Department Monthly Report.
9. Adjournment. Alderman Brown made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Alderman
Swiatek. The motion was approved by voice vote, and the meeting adjourned at
approximately 7:45am.
