Our new Powering People initiative is dedicated to empowering families and individuals with limited resources with programmatic opportunities to protect themselves against fraud, learn more about their Consumer Fraud Awareness & Education Campaign Too often, ComEd receives reports of energy-related consumer fraud in our communities, and our goal is to empower our customers to protect themselves and their families against this deception. That’s why we are launching a sustained customer awareness campaign to help inform customers on how to spot anyone impersonating a ComEd representative. We are dedicating specific resources to make sure our customers are protected by: ° Making customers aware of how ComEd does and does not contact customers; ¢ Working with community partners to share data on the types of reported scams; * Giving customers tips on what type of behaviors should raise red flags; and ¢ Sharing information on how customers can re energy bills, and save money. EMPOWER Regulatory Filing on Price to Compare Education As the energy provider for Chicago and northern Illinois, ComEd believes we have a responsibility to give people greater power to use energy when they want it, where they want it, and how they want it. As part of our Powering People initiative, customers will have the opportunity to talk to ComEd customer service representatives about frequently asked questions that may be helpful for anyone considering alternative retail electric suppliers (ARES). We want to make sure that our current customers or anyone interested in learning more about how ComEd supplies energy is armed with all of the facts to make the decision that is best for their family. Supplemental Arrearage Program (SARP) ComEd understands that many of our customers face difficult choices in order to make ends meet, which is why we have been proud to offer free and low-cost programming to help reduce our customers’ electric bills for over 10 years. Now, thanks to changes made through the Future Energy Jobs Act, ComEd customers who are at 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Level and have back payments owed to ComEd will be able to enroll in the new Supplemental Arrearage Program (SARP) program. The program provides funding to eligible customers in order to ease the financial stress of paying for power and encourage energy efficiency as the result of timely bill payments.
