7:00 p.m.
1. Call to Order, Roll Call and Establishment of a Quorum
Call meeting to order at 7:08 pm: Anni Holm, Cindy Davies, Heidi Kuharich, Adriana Sarellana, Uwe Gsedl, and
City Liaison Rosemary Mackey in attendance.
2. Approve Meeting Minutes of June 6, 2019 and July 11, 2019
a. Approval of minutes moved to next months agenda to review protocol on who can approve minutes.
3. Call for Art for Banner Exhibit-Home
a. Call for art has gone out and application is available online. No submission yet. Brainstorm options for
next year’s Juror.
4. Update on Mural Maintenance Agreement Between the City and Supermercado Tampico
a. The Maintenance Agreement was approved at the Public Affairs Committee meeting on August 26" and
will be presented at the City Council meeting on September 3" for approval. After approval, agreement
will need to be signed by Tampico.
b. Tentative date for installation is the week of the 9" of September.
5. Update on the progress of Juan Chawuk’s mural
a. Name of the mural will need to be translated to English
b. Speakers at the dedication will include Tampico, Mayor Pineda, Anni, and possibly Karina Villa. Heidi will
reach out to District 33 for possible Folkloric dancers and Mariachi at dedication.
c. Uwe motioned to have opening ceremony/dedication of mural on October 12" at 10am followed by
silent auction of butterflies during Food Festival. Anni seconded. All in favor, motion passed.
d. It was discovered that a butterfly on Fabian street is missing. Rosemary will speak with public works and
business center to try an locate butterfly.
6. Lew Achenbach’s Installation at City Hall-Sonido Sdlido
a. The exhibit will be on display at City Hall through the end of October 2019
7. Update on Research Done for Library Proposal on Landscape & Lighting of loveevenmore
a. To be added to next months agenda for further discussion. Meanwhile, Anni and Sara will attempt to
play with lighting at the site.
8. Update on America in Bloom Judges’ Visit
a. Visit went well, Judges were taken to see all current public art displays and various other locations
around the city. Their only feedback was that our “buildings could use some murals”. Rosemary
explained a mural is in the works.
9. Other Business
a. Discussion on whether we will do another project like The Butterfly Effect next year, possibly with
bumble bees, or small houses to keep with the “Home” theme. Or do we want to do something different
and unexpected.
b. Items to add to next month’s agenda: Prepare budget request for next year. Vote/appoint new
secretary.
