Call to Order, Roll Call, and Establishment of a Quorum. Chairman Beebe called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. Roll call found Commissioners Dan Beebe, John Symowicz, Joe Cavataio, Bethany Brown, Bob Blaus and Kris Zimmermann present. Commissioner Kim MacPherson was absent. Also in attendance was Assistant Director of Public Works, Tim Wilcox. 2. Approval of Minutes. A. Environmental Commission Minutes of July 17,2019. Commissioner Blaus made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Symowicz to approve the meeting minutes of July 17, 2019. Voting Yea: Commissioners Beebe, Brown, Cavataio, Zimmermann, Blaus, and Symowicz. Voting Nay: 0. 3. Public Participation/Presentations. None 4. Items For Consent None 5. Review and discuss Commission Priority List. A. Review current priority list Adopt a Highway October 5, 2019 at 8:00 AM was set as the next trash collection event. Commissioner Cavataio indicated he should be able to participate. This will be his first collection event so he will need to view the safety video and sign a waiver prior to collection. Commissioner Zimmermann indicated she would not be there. Mr. Wilcox said he would inform the Street Division of the collection date. Guttman CITY CLERK CITY ADMINISTRATOR ===== PDF PAGE 2 ===== [Extraction: OCR (rendered-page OCR)] Mr. Wilcox informed the group that the City is willing to arrange and pay for a roll off dumpster for the event if the Commission will be co-hosting the event again this year with the First United Methodist Church. B. Discuss new additions to priority list None. 6. Other Business Commissioner Blaus mentioned that State Representative Karina Villa attended a recent fact gathering meeting regarding the City of Batavia and the Prairie State Electrical Cooperative. Batavia has had to spend much more money for electricity than anticipated and have a contract agreement with the cooperative until 2041. Commissioner Blaus also informed the group Winfield Township is hosting their annual recycling extravaganza on September 29, 2019 from 9:00 AM to noon. He also suggested the Commission look into finding a sponsor and hosting a Sharps collection event sometime in the future. He said there is a huge demand for this type of collection. Commission Zimmermann indicated she would not be attending the October Environmental Commission meeting. 7. Adjournment At 7:24 P.M. Commissioner Blaus made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Symowicz seconded the motion. Motion was unanimously approved by voice vote.
