7:00 p.m.
1. Call to Order, Roll Call and Establishment of a Quorum
Call meeting to order at 7:09pm: Anni Holm, Uwe Gsedl, Buddy Plumlee, Adriana Sarellana, Sara Phalen,
Cindy Davies (joined at 7:26), and City Liaison Rosemary Mackey in attendance.
2. Approve Meeting Minutes of February 6, 2020 Meeting
Sara motions to approve minutes, Anni seconds, minutes approved with no corrections.
3. Presentation on Promotional Videos — Baba Abraham
Add to next meeting’s agenda. Baba was unable to attend this meeting. He will not be joining the
commission as a member at this time but would still like to discuss working with the commission on
promotional videos.
4. Results of Master Plan Survey Questions #3
Rosemary is working on report and tallying responses. There were mostly positive responses. Rosemary
will send results to everyone before next meeting, will discuss at next meeting.
5. Review New Layouts for Public Art Signage
Add to next meeting’s agenda.
6. Update on 2020 Banner Submissions
We had 27 submissions and Juror Ryan Hammer chose 18 of those submissions to be produced into
banners. Sara will provide one of the previous banners to John at Sign-O-Rama to use as a sample. Sara
will also communicate with the artists to collect files and Uwe will photograph the large pieces.
Uwe will send proofs to Sara for artist approval and will bring them to the March 26" meeting. Buddy
motions for next year’s theme to be Take Flight, Anni seconds, motion approved. Jackie Camacho as
possible juror.
7. 2020 Arteculture and Monarch Welcome at Blooming Fest
Arteculture to take place first week of May. Drop off Wed May 6th, install Thurs. May 7th, opening
reception Friday May 8". Anni to contact Miriam Fernandez about creating a 6ft butterfly sculpture as a
one-time project for Blooming Fest.
8. Discussion to Consider Proposal for Street Performers in 2021
If we would like to proceed with this future project, we would request a written proposal. However, we
will need to discuss approximate dates. Anni will send a link to their work so the commission can get an
idea of what they do. Item to be added to next meeting’s agenda for discussion.
9. Other Business
There is discussion from the Park District of possibly changing the date and name of Taco Fest. Time has
also been changed to noon-6:30pm.
