Call to Order, Roll Call, and Establishment of a Quorum. Chairman Beebe called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. Roll call found Commissioners Dan Beebe and Bob Blaus present in person, Commissioners, Bethany Brown, Joe Cavataio, and Kris Zimmermann were present via Zoom internet connection. Staff present in person included Assistant Director of Public Works, Tim Wilcox. Chairman Beebe read the following statement: “Mayor Pineda has determined that in-person meetings are not practical and prudent”. 2. Approval of Minutes. A. Environmental Commission Minutes of August 19, 2020. Commissioner Zimmermann made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Brown to approve the meeting minutes of September 16, 2020. Voting Yea: Commissioner Beebe, Blaus, Brown, Cavataio, and Zimmermann. Voting Nay: zero. 3. Public Participation/Presentations. None. 4. Items For Consent None 5. Review and discuss Commission Priority List. A. Review current priority list Adopt a Highway The October 10, 2020 collection event was canceled. Chairman Beebe asked if members were interested in trying to organize a cleanup event in October or early November. There were numerous conflicts so it was determined no cleanup event would be held this fall. She was able to assemble nine volunteers. They had good weather and the event was very successful. Pumpkin Recycling Event The event is scheduled to be held at First United Methodist Church parking lot at 643 East Washington Street, from 9:00 a.m. — 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2020. Some members questioned if the City was currently advertising the event on social media and the message board at Main and Neltnor. Holiday Light Recycling There was discussion about drop off locations possibly not being open to the public due to the pandemic. It was determined most would still be open. Mr. Wilcox will check to make sure there is no issue having City Hall as a drop off location and check with Rosemary about advertising for the recycling. Dates for collection would be Friday after Thanksgiving November 27, 2020 — January 17, 2021 B. Discuss new additions to priority list None. 6. Other Business 7.
