Approval of Minutes of November 5, 2020: Stephanie made a motion, Uwe seconded, all favor, passed 2. Update on Autumn Haiku Installation & Summer Haiku Retrieval: Community member Debra Walsh commented that enjoyed having a haiku on her home lawn and had asked the commission if they would be offered to the haiku writers; the commission stated that they will first be offered to the writers, then to the homeowners; questions about who has picked up some of the Summer haikus and plan to take them all to Gallery 200 for distribution (Gallery 200 is currently closed because of COVID restrictions, but Sara can grant access as needed); Autumn Haikus will be picked up in early 2021; Heidi will work with those people who are asking for their signs asap; discussion about the process; Rosemary will send email to all authors once the signs are collected 3. Continue Discussion on Bee/Butterfly Project for 2021: we have heard that the Garden Club has not had any specific meeting on their proposal and since so many things are up in the air, the commission agreed to put this on hold; also agreement about doing something again that is throughout the whole community; thought of doing something that could be more easily mass produced and anyone could do one; need to find ways to make it less labor intensive for the commissioners; or could we commission two larger works and then have companion mass reproduced versions (i.e. milk weed sculptures or seeds)-partner with other environmental groups (Methodist Green Disciples) 4. Update on 2021 Art Banner Call for Art: form is up, Rosemary is pushing the new call in the city newsletter; Sara updated everyone that all past year banner artists got notified that they banners are down and they can be purchased 5. Discuss 2021 Haiku Zine or Calendar Project: discussion about putting out the slide show of haikus online; discussion moved to talking about at next meeting, needs more thought and perhaps not aim to publish until 2022; Uwe will help with design 6. Discuss Establishment of Onboarding Program for New Commission Members: Discussion about preparing a one page sheet with the overview of the commission; Heidi and Rosemary will work on drafting up something to provide a high level overview 7. Other Business: a. upcoming meeting discuss Master Plan status b. Sara updated the commission about PMV and Museum working to get a dedicated spots in downtown for annual rotating art pieces; we went to Public Affairs commission and they approved us moving forward with this c. Lew brought up the idea of hosting a community forum/listening session annually at least, update on what the commission is doing, good way to do some outreach d. January is when the mayor appoints a new commission chair 8. Public Participation 9.
