Members Present: Mayor Ruben Pineda Alderman Becky Stout Alderman Sandy Dimas Staff Present: Michael Guttman, City Administrator Public Participation: Mr. Dan Weber wanted to obtain clarification on the actual reading on the noise coming from The Oasis Café, as well as information that is more specific on the 200+ complaints since 2018. Mr. Weber has experience running sound and wanted to offer his services to help change the code to accommodate businesses. Mr. Weber expressed that he just wants businesses to thrive, and he does not understand why this business owner received a ticket. Approval of Minutes: Alderman Dimas moved and Alderman Stout seconded a motion to approve the minutes from the December 17, 2018 meeting. Motion unanimously passed by voice vote. New Business: Public Hearing on Notice of Report of Violations of Chapter 3 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of West Chicago — 59 North — The Oasis Café — City Attorney Patrick Bond spoke to the owners of 59 North — The Oasis Café and learned that an attorney would not be present, but that the owners would handle their own case. Attorney Bond advised them that the Commission could not hear or rule on their case as an attorney needed to be present under Illinois law for any corporation appearing before an adjudicatory body. The owners requested to continue the matter and agreed to not have any live entertainment until such time that the Commission reconvenes and renders a decision on this matter. A motion to continue was moved by Alderman Stout and seconded by Alderman Dimas. Motion unanimously passed by voice vote. Adjournment: Alderman Stout moved to adjourn. Second, Alderman Dimas. Voice vote showed all in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 11:27 a.m.
