Call to Order at 7:05pm by Heidi Kuharich; Roll Call: Judith Horsley, Heidi Kuharich, Buddy Plumlee, and City Liaison
Daniel Peck in attendance; Quorum established; Statement from Mayor Pineda read
Approval of Minutes of February 3, 2022
a. Approval tabled to next month’s meeting
Public Participation/Presentations
a. Daniel Peck noted that a conversation with Library Director Ben Weseloh confirmed the “library wall project” as
long-term
Items for Discussion and Possible Action
a. Alebrijes Community Art Project (described in commission packet)
i. Discussion on Community Wreath Project, in concert with the Mexican Cultural Center—DuPage
ii. Discussion on Community Alebrije Project
iii. Both Projects put forth voted to be pursued by the Commission: motion made by Judith Horsley, seconded by
Buddy Plumlee, passed unanimously
Other Business
a. 2022 Art Banner Exhibit—Call for Artists: Results
i. 93 total pieces submitted by 44 unique artists from 20 communities
ii. Kay McKeen will begin judging duties; Uwe Gsed! will discuss production with Daniel Peck; Public Works set to
hang banners prior to Blooming Fest; online “People’s Choice” voting will again be employed with a return to
“ballot boxes” positioned in various prominent locations around town
