Call to Order and Establishment of a Quorum The meeting was called to order by Chairman Malina at 6:01p.m. A quorum was established. 2. Certificate of Appropriateness Review A. C.O.A. 22-01 — 129 Fremont Street — Anona West, Inc. — Door Replacement Mr. Sterrett stated that Anona West, Inc., owner of 129 Fremont Street in the Turner Junction Historic District, is requesting approval to remove and replace two existing exterior doors on the existing one-story brick commercial building. The main entrance door on Fremont Street has damage to the wood jamb and door panel as well as seal damage to the transom glass above the door. The rear door, which is a double panel, has damage to the bottom of both door panels. The front door will be replaced with a bronze anodized aluminum door and transom frame with the same style panel as the existing. The rear door will also be a bronze anodized aluminum frame with same style panel and will contain a 2’-6” sidelite. he Commission discussed the importance of preserving the look of the existing front door, which is the existing door to the building. Chairman Malina made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Letsche, to approve the COA application with the following conditions: . The proposed door to replace the existing front door will match the existing door in style and size. 2. The proposed door shall contain the same size glass as the existing glass. 3. The proposed transom on the front door shall match the existing transom in style and size. With a voice vote of all aye, the motion carried. C.O.A. 22-02 — 179-183 W Washington Street — Atcherson Association — Flat Roof Replacement Mr. Sterrett stated that Atcherson Association, owner of 179-183 West Washington Street (the Atcherson Building) in the Turner Junction Historic District, is requesting approval to replace the existing flat roof on the two-story commercial building. The existing roof will be removed down to sheeting and the roof deck will be inspected for any damage and replaced as needed. The applicant intends to install 5.2” ISO board insulation followed by a CT Black Diamond base sheet and low slope modified bitumen. After a brief discussion, Chairman Malina made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Vigsnes, to approve the COA application as presented. With a voice vote of all ayes the motion carried. 3. Historic District Boundaries/Strategies Mr. Sterrett stated that staff is doing research into amending the historic district boundaries and waiting for a response from the State. Mr. Sterrett provided an update on other items in the Turner Junction Historic District including a menu board replacement for 130 Fremont Street and a new wall sign at 142 W Washington. The Commission discussed the fagade project at 200 Main Street and there was concern that existing brick that was in good shape and salvageable may be being disposed of. Mr. Sterrett stated he would follow up with Public Works on this issue. 4. Adjournment Chairman Malina a made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Vigsnes, to adjourn the meeting.
