Call to Order, Roll Call, and Establishment of a Quorum. Chairman Beebe called the meeting to order at 7:21 P.M. Roll call found Commissioners Dan Beebe, Bethany Brown, Anna Leuer, Ethan Young, and Kris Zimmermann present. Commissioner Bob Blaus was absent. Staff present included Assistant Director of Public Works, Tim Wilcox. 2. Approval of Minutes. A. Environmental Commission Minutes of April 20, 2022. Commissioner Young made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Brown to approve the Meeting Minutes of April 20, 2022. Voting Yea: Commissioner Beebe, Brown, Leuer, Young, and Zimmermann. Voting Nay: zero. 3. Public Participation/Presentations. None 4. Items for Consent. None 5. Review and discuss Commission Priority List. A. Review current priority list Blooming Fest The event is Saturday May 21, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Volunteers should plan to arrive at 8:00 A.M. to help setup. Commissioner Beebe will bring his tent and the Environmental Commission banner. Mr. Wilcox said a table will be delivered by Street Division staff. Magnetic clips and reusable shopping bags were received from Groot Industries, Inc. Mr. Wilcox has printed copies of the Recycling 101 flyer and has numerous other materials related to storm water management as well. He also has a map of the City showing the Adopt A Highway roads available. A recycling sorting game is planned and informational flyers about monarch waystations will be available. Commissioners Beebe, Brown, and Zimmermann plan to be at the event. Adopt A Highway Commissioner Beebe indicated the Garden Club will likely apply to adopt one of the available area roads. Annual Paper Shredding Event The event will be held on June 4, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. to noon. Mr. Wilcox distributed a plan view of last year’s event. The best location for rain barrel pick up and Sharps collection was determined. There were no other major changes to the plan. Mr. Wilcox will plan to contact businesses in the area of the Metra lot to inform them of the event. He is working with the Sheriff's office and Scarce to get proper insurance certificates. Rain Barrel Pickup Event At least 12 rain barrels have been ordered for pick up at the event. Mr. Wilcox will contact Upcycle regarding rain barrel delivery. B. Discuss new additions to priority list None. 6. Other Business Joe Cavataio resigned from the Environmental Commission earlier today. 7. Adjournment At 8:35 P.M., Commissioner Brown made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Leuer seconded the motion. Motion was unanimously approved by voice vote.
