ITEM SUMMARY:
Food Fest is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 27 from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. At its meeting on
April 25, 2022, the members of the Public Affairs Committee approved the sale of alcohol from a vendor.
Staff believes that the event will benefit from the addition of alcoholic beverage options. With the addition of
alcohol, attendees are likely to stay at the festival longer and visit more food vendors, which in turn brings
higher sales to vendors. The mobile bar will have the following requirements:
All staff Basset Certified
Certificate of Insurance will be provided
Liquor License meets requirements that can be used the day of Food Fest
One drink per ID at a time
Area will be roped off to contain those drinking
Possible proposed location would be on Galena St near the stage
The current mobile bar that Staff is coordinating with is called The Flight Deck, The Dock at Inwood, which
serves margaritas. Bellissimo Bar Company, which was approved at the May 2, 2022 City Council meeting,
had to change their selling structure and can no longer attend Food Fest. A third company is also interested
and specializes in pina coladas.
ACTIONS PROPOSED:
Recommend approval for a Mobile Bar to sell alcoholic beverages at Food Fest.
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
Going straight to City Council due to time constraints.
