The Security Camera System at the Water Treatment Plant is original to the building and is currently only
partially operational. The system is in need of an upgrade and modernization.
Four companies were consulted for proposals to upgrade and modernize the Security Camera System.
Of the four, Current Technologies provided the most comprehensive package at the lowest cost. Please
note that Current Technologies is the current City vendor for the Camera Systems utilized at the West
Chicago Police Station.
Current Technologies proposal includes installation and associated electrical wiring of two internal
cameras and ten -external cameras. Two of the external cameras require a conduit to be bored and wire
to be pulled from the building to the poles where the cameras will be mounted in the southwest corner of
the site. The underground work will be completed under a separate contract by Utility Dynamics
Corporation, which has worked on multiple projects for the City in the past.
In FY2022, in the Water fund there is $40,000 budgeted in capital account (06-34-48-4806) and $36,800
budgeted in operations account (06-34-48-4401) for the camera upgrades.
ACTIONS PROPOSED:
Approve Resolution No. 22-R-0044 authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract with Current
Technologies Corporation of Elgin, Illinois, for the installation of Security Cameras at the Water Treatment
Plant for a not to exceed cost of $70,967.84
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION:
The Infrastructure Committee voted 5-0 for approval.
