Call to Order, Roll Call, and Establishment of a Quorum. a. Chairman Beebe called the meeting to order at 7:04 P.M. Roll call found Commissioners Dan Beebe, Bob Blaus, Bethany Brown, Alyssa Rodway, Ethan Young, and Kris Zimmermann present. b. Staff present included Assistant Director of Public Works, Dave Shah. 2. Approval of Minutes. a. Environmental Commission Minutes of October 19, 2022. i. Commissioner Zimmermann made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Brown to approve the Meeting Minutes. ii. Voting Yea: Commissioner Beebe, Blaus, Brown, Rodway Young, and Zimmermann. Voting Nay: zero. 3. Public Participation/Presentations. a. None 4. Items for Consent. a. None 5. Review and discuss Commission Priority List. a. Current List i. None b. New Addition i. None 6. Other Business a. Pumpkin Smash Through SCARCE i. Shah stated that the event collected 4.36 Tons of pumpkins in 2022. b. Holiday Lights Recycling Event i. November 25, 2022 to January 20, 2023 1. Shah has coordinated with Groot to drop off the recycling bins at the City facility. Shah will further notify the West Chicago Park District for the placement of one of the recycling bins at their facility. Chairman Beebe discussed various events coming up in 2023 such as the Paper Shredding Event, Sharps Collection, Blooming Fest, Various Adopt-A-Highway Events, Conservation Foundation, and Rain Barrels. d. Various i. Cancel the December 21, 2022, Environmental Commission Meeting 1. Chairman Beebe made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Brown ii. The Commission overall was interested in having its own Social Media page where various ideas, local events, and tips related to the Environmental Commission could be shared. Shah to follow-up and will discuss this in detail with the City’s Marketing & Communications Coordinator. iii. Commissioners openly discussed various ideas for the Recycling Event such as Bike Recycling, Fabric Recycling, and Crayons Recycling. 7. Adjournment a. At 8:04 P.M., Chairman Beebe made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Rodway seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved by voice vote.
