CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
Regular Meeting
January 3, 2023
1. Call to Order. Mayor Ruben Pineda called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m.
2. Pledge of Allegiance. Alderman Hallett led all in the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. Roll Call and Establishment of a Quorum.
Roll call found Lori Chassee, James E. Beifuss, Jr., Jayme Sheahan, Sandy Dimas, Rebecca
Stout, Jeanne Short, Christine Dettmann, Melissa Birch Ferguson, Heather Brown, Alton Hallett,
John E. Jakabcsin and Christopher Swiatek present. Aldermen Matthew Garling and Joseph C.
Morano were absent. The Mayor announced a quorum.
Also in attendance were City Administrator Michael Guttman, Finance Director Nikki Giles,
Public Works Director Mehul Patel, and City Attorney Pat Bond.
4. Public Participation.
None
5. City Council Meeting Minutes of December 19, 2022. Alderman Brown made a motion,
seconded by Alderman Chassee, to approve the minutes of December 19, 2022, with no
changes.
Voting Aye by Roll Call Vote: Chassee, Beifuss, Dimas, Stout, Short, Dettmann, Birch
Ferguson, Sheahan, Hallett, Jakabcsin, Brown, and Swiatek. Motion carried.
6. Corporate Disbursement Report. Alderman Dimas made a motion, seconded by Alderman
Chassee to approve the January 3, 2023, Corporate Disbursement Report in the amount of
$1,480,614.89.
Voting Aye by Roll Call Vote: Chassee, Beifuss, Dimas, Stout, Short, Dettmann, Birch
Ferguson, Sheahan, Hallett, Jakabcsin, and Swiatek. Alderman Brown abstained. Motion
carried.
7. Consent Agenda
None
8. Adjournment
At 7:35 a.m., Alderman Chassee made a motion, seconded by Alderman Stout, to adjourn. All
Aldermen voted aye by Voice Vote.
