CITY OF WEST CHICAGO -— 475 Main Street CITY COUNCIL MINUTES Regular Meeting February 20, 2023 1. Call to Order. Mayor Ruben Pineda called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 2. Pledge of Allegiance. Alderman Garling led all in the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. Roll Call and Establishment of a Quorum. Roll call found Lori Chassee, James E. Beifuss, Jr., Jayme Sheahan, Rebecca Stout, Melissa Birch Ferguson, Jeanne Short, Sandy Dimas, Christine Dettmann, Heather Brown, Matthew Garling, Joseph C. Morano, Alton Hallett, and Christopher Swiatek present. Alderman John E. Jakabcsin was absent. The Mayor announced a quorum. Also in attendance were Director of Public Works Mehul Patel, Director of Community Development Tom Dabareiner, City Administrator Michael Guttman and City Attorney Pat Bond. 4. Public Participation. None 5. City Council Meeting Minutes of February 6, 2023. Alderman Chassee made a motion, seconded by Alderman Morano, to approve the minutes of February 6, 2023. Corporate Disbursement Report. Alderman Dimas made a motion, seconded by Alderman Chassee to approve the February 20, 2023, Corporate Disbursement Report in the amount of $476,503.90. Mayor’s Comments. Mayor Pineda mentioned there will be changes to District 33’s pre- school locations. Mayor Pineda was told the food pantry usage has gone up and there are about 400 homeless families that include District 33 students. He will be meeting with the DuPage County Chair, State and Federal representatives to discuss this issue. At 7:20 p.m., Alderman Dimas made a motion, seconded by Alderman Chassee, to adjourn.
