Chairman Chassee called the meeting to order at 6:15pm. Roll Call found Alderman Brown (via phone), Hallett, Birch Ferguson and Short. Alderman Smith was not in attendance. Approval of Minutes. A. Public Affairs Committee Minutes of September 18, 2023. Alderman Hallett made a motion, seconded by Alderman Birch Ferguson to approve the minutes of the Public Affairs Committee meeting. Voting Aye: Chairman Chassee, Alderman Brown, Hallett, Birch Ferguson and Short. Voting Nay: 0. Abstain: 0. Motion carried. Public Participation / Presentations. Items for Consent. A. Ordinance No. 23-0-0035 — Turn Restrictions on Gary’s Mill and Purnell Road Alderman Hallett made a motion, seconded by Alderman Short to direct this item to City Council for approval. Voting Aye: Chairman Chassee, Alderman Brown, Hallett, Birch Ferguson and Short. Voting Nay: Abstain: 0. Motion carried. Items for Discussion A. Traffic Control & Pedestrian Concerns at Forest and Bishop — Alderman Short expressed her concern with not having crossing guards at the intersections when the children are crossing to and from school. This is a concern and also a safety issue. Chief Fleury advised he would meet with the Director of Public Works and come up with a solution. Chief Fleury has been aware of the of the teenagers tagging on property and the police department is actively working on this issue. Unfinished Business. New Business.
