                                                     MINUTES
                1.  Call to Order at 7:05pm by Heidi Kuharich; Roll Call: Paulina Garcia, Uwe Gsedl, Jacob Hernandez, Heidi Kuharich,
                Deborah Walsh, and City Liaison Daniel Peck in attendance; Quorum established; Buddy Plumlee on phone
                2.  Public Participation: Bruce Treudt and Luis Tapia observing; introductions; Bruce Treudt raised question of how
                Commissions are funded by City
                3.  Approve Minutes of August 3, 2023
                      a.  Deborah Walsh made motion to approve, Jacob Hernandez seconded; Approved unanimously
                4.  Items for Discussion and Possible Action
                      a.  Art Banner Exhibit 2023
                                       i.  Heidi Kuharich outlined completion tasks:
                            1.  Final Voting for People’s Choice Award: Monday, September 4 (midnight)
                                  a.  Dan Peck confirmed results will be sent to Commission week of 9.4.23 for ratification
                                b.   If vote required: October 5 CAC meeting
                            2.  Banners will be removed by Public Works during week of 9.4.23
                            3.  Mayor will announce People’s Choice Award recipient at 10.16.23 City Council Meeting
                                  a.  Certificates for all artists signed by Heidi Kuharich; forwarding to Mayor for signature
                                b.  Certificates and banners will be at meeting for dispersing to artists
                                     c.  Remaining certificates/banners will be available for pick-up at City Hall
                            4.  People’s Choice Award recipient will be offered Gallery 200 show
                                  a.  Heidi Kuharich in communication with G200 to collaborate on details
                            5.  Library Exhibit of Local Banner Artists
                                  a.  Closing 9.1.23
                    b.  Art Banner Exhibit 2024
                            1.  Status unchanged: Call for Art issued; deadine for submissions: February 9, 2024
                       c.  Loteria Update
                                       i.  Heidi Kuharich reported final stages of production:
                            1.  In discussion with Sign-a-Rama to deliver images in correct format
                            2.  Paulina Garcia confirmed changes finalized
                            3.  Dan Peck suggested adding installation to Sign-a-Rama contract
                                       ii.  Heidi Kuharich reported status of Playing Boards
                            1.  Paulina Garcia is finalizing design
                            2.  Heidi Kuharich is finalizing copy for reverse
                            3.  Will deliver final version to Dan Peck for inclusion on webpage (www.wesstchicago. org/wegoloteria)
                            4.  Dan Peck confirmed that Playing Boards could be printed and kept at City Hall for Community pick-up
                                      iii.  Heidi Kuharich reported status of webpage copy
                            1.  Heidi Kuharich is finalizing copy
                            2.  Will deliver working version to Dan Peck for population of webpage
                            3.  Heidi Kuharich will also send list of current sites to Dan Peck for development of map, to be housed on
                       webpage
                             iv.  Heidi Kuharich reported on copyright question from 8.3.23 meeting; discussion with attorney determined no
                          issue due to derivative nature and CAC does not intent to generate money from sale of said artwork
                          v.  Dan Peck reported status of gift cards for artists needs some review; will return update asap
                             vi.  Heidi Kuharich is in discussion with WCPLD regarding potential original art exhibit, possibly in conjunction with
                   MID or Día de los Muertos
                              vii.  Heidi Kuharich reported still seeking five sites for card display and sponsor for prizes
                    d.  2022 Annual Report: discussion confirmed submission accepted
                     e.  Cultural Arts Commission Master Plan
