Call to Order, Roll Call, Establishment of a Quorum Chairman Kuharich called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. Roll Call found Commissioners Garcia, Gsedl, and Walsh present. Commissioners Hernandez, Plumlee, and Treudt were absent. Also in attendance was Marketing and Communications Manager Daniel Peck. 2. Public Participation None. 3. Cultural Arts Commission Meeting Minutes of June 6, 2024 Commissioner Walsh made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Gsedl, to approve the minutes of June 6, 2024. Voting Aye: Chairman Kuharich and Commissioner Garcia. Motion Carried. 4. Items for Discussion and Possible Action None. 5. Other Business a) 2024 Art Banner Exhibit Status: Commissioners reviewed the status of the 2024 Art Banner Exhibit and requested increased promotion during the final weeks. Manager Peck noted that adding street pole banner brackets for promotional signage would need to be included in the FY2025 budget requests. b) 2025 Art Banner Exhibit Status: Commissioners discussed potential 2025 Art Banner Exhibit jurors. c) 2024 Loteria Status: Commissioners discussed the 2024 Loteria initiative, with Commissioner Garcia noting that two artists have been selected to create four new pieces. Manager Peck suggested reusing the previous webpage and adding a form for participants to submit their completed boards. d) Public Mural Guidelines: Manager Peck informed Commissioners about a series of public murals by artist Giovanni Arellano being installed in the downtown area. Along with this, Peck introduced a set of draft guidelines for the installation of murals in the City, asking Commissioners to review and provide feedback to himself and Chairman Kuharich by August 9th. e) Forever Lily/Public Art Signage: Commissioners discussed adding new signage for the Forever Lily artwork at 137 Turner Court, as the previous signage was removed by the new building owner. The conversation also covered signage for other public artworks, including the murals at 516 Main Street. 6. Adjournment At 8:03 p.m., Chairman Kuharich adjourned the meeting.
