Purchase of Road Salt from Morton Salt, Inc. of Chicago, Illinois, for the 2024-2025 Winter Season. Alderman Brown inquired about the amount of salt currently in the City's possession and whether the City has to purchase more for the upcoming snow season. Mr. Patel estimated that the salt shed has about 5,500-6,000 tons stored inside currently, which is ideal going into the next snow season since storms and snowfall amounts can be so unpredictable. The City has also reduced the purchase of salt year-over-year due in part to the increased usage of anti-icing and liquid agents. Mr. Patel explained that salt purchases do not have to be made until there is storage room available in the shed, so the City does not have to accept any deliveries until such time that some of the current supply has been used up. Alderman Dimas made a motion, seconded by Alderman Brown to approve. Roll call found the vote unanimous for approval. Voting Yea: Aldermen Beebe, Brown, Dimas, Hallett, M.orano, and Short. Voting Nay: 0. 6. Unfinished Business. Mr. Patel noted that investigation into the odor concerns from the Wastewater Treatment Plant are ongoing. Some previous reports and studies completed several years ago still need to be reviewed. 7. New Business. None. 8. Reports from Staff. None. 9. Adjournment. At 7:10 P.M., Alderman Hallett made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Alderman Brown. Motion was unanimously approved by voice vote.
