ITEM SUMMARY:
As part of the City’s upcoming Town Road resurfacing and reconstruction project, the City is dedicating
three City-owned lots at the southeast corner of Town Road and Forest Avenue, 804-812 Forest
Avenue, for public right-of-way. The dedicated public right-of-way area will then be used as a floodplain
compensatory storage basin. This is required because a portion of the Town Road reconstruction is in
the regulatory floodplain. Staff has determined the Plat of Dedication complies with the Subdivision
Regulations Code.
At their February 4" meeting, members of the Plan Commission voted unanimously (6-0, with one
absent) in support of the proposed Plat of Dedication.
ACTION PROPOSED:
Discuss and recommend approval of the Plat of Dedication.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING A PLAT OF DEDICATION
804-812 FOREST AVENUE
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of West Chicago, in regular session assembled
as follows:
Section 1. That the Plat of Dedication, as prepared by Thomas Engineering, attached hereto and
incorporated herein as Exhibit “A”, be and the same is hereby approved and that the Mayor and Executive
Office Assistant and all other necessary and appropriate officers of the City are authorized to execute said
plat.
Section 2. That the recommendation of the Plan Commission, pursuant to Recommendation No.
25-RC-0005, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit “B” be and the same
are hereby adopted as the findings of fact of the City Council.
Section 3. That all resolutions, or parts thereof, in conflict with the provisions of this Resolution
are, to the extent of such conflict, expressly repealed.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and ap-
proval as provided by law.

DECISION: The motion to approve the requested subdivision passed by a unanimous (6-0) vote.
RECOMMENDATION
After review of the proposed Plat of Dedication, members of the Plan Commission/Zoning Board of Ap-
peals recommend approval.
There are no specific findings of facts for a Plat of Dedication. Rather, the PC/ZBA verifies that the sub-
mitted plat of dedication complies with the City’s subdivision regulations. The PC/ZBA finds that the plat
does comply.
