This includes removing the existing damaged stone veneer on the first floor, removing the existing damaged brick under the stone veneer, and installing new brick that will substantially match the exist- ing brick. The existing wood material on the front of the building will also be removed and new brick will be installed in its place. The existing windowfront will be removed and replaced with aluminum storefront windows with glazing. A 4-inch limestone windowsill will be installed under the windows. The two existing doors on the front of the building will be removed and replaced with bronze anodized aluminum narrow-style doors. The existing transom above each door will remain and will consist of new glass. Please see attached elevations. The existing stairs on the side of the building are in poor condition and are proposed to be replaced with new wood stairs. These stairs are a requirement for emergency egress. Please see attached plans for the stairs. The property owner is also proposing to replace the existing double-door on the rear of the building with a dark bronze anodized aluminum commercial door with glass. The property owner had indicated a desire to use a skim-coat of plaster to repair certain areas on the existing limestone on the rear of the building that have deteriorated. Staff, however, has recommended that instead the limestone be tuckpointed for preservation and in keeping with the other limestone facades on Turner Court. The building is a 1900 Late Victorian. According to the Turner-Junction Historic District survey the building is non-contributing to the District and is not a candidate for local landmark status. ACTION PROPOSED: Consideration of a façade renovation, rear door, and stair replacement at 116 Main Street. ===== PDF PAGE 5 ===== [Extraction: no text detected] [No text detected on this page; page may be blank, photographic, or graphical.] ===== PDF PAGE 6 ===== [Extraction: no text detected] [No text detected on this page; page may be blank, photographic, or graphical.] ===== PDF PAGE 7 ===== [Extraction: no text detected] [No text detected on this page; page may be blank, photographic, or graphical.] ===== PDF PAGE 8 ===== [Extraction: no text detected] [No text detected on this page; page may be blank, photographic, or graphical.] ===== PDF PAGE 9 ===== [Extraction: no text detected] [No text detected on this page; page may be blank, photographic, or graphical.] ===== PDF PAGE 10 ===== [Extraction: OCR (rendered-page OCR)] FACP 117 ===== PDF PAGE 11 ===== [Extraction: no text detected] [No text detected on this page; page may be blank, photographic, or graphical.] ===== PDF PAGE 12 ===== [Extraction: embedded PDF text] NEW BE COLOR ROOF EXITING NEW EXISTING DOORTO TO EXISTING TO FULL BY VYNIL REMAIN ALUMINUM WINDOW TOREMAIN EXISTING THIN BE FULL TOBE THIN BRICK REPLACED ROOF OWNER ALUMINUM SET SET WINDOWS STONE REPLACED STONE REPLACED STONE 1'-3" 2" 3'-0" 7'-0" 3'-0" 2" NEW 4" 2'-4" 2" LIMESTONE 3'-2" WINDOW 2" SILL 4'-41 2" 2" 4'-6" 2" 3'-0" 2" 2" WINDOWS TO BE 4'-41 2" REPLACED 2"1'-6"2" 3'-0" 2"1'-6" DOOR TO ASSEMBLIES STORE ANODIZED TEMPERED NEW BE FRONT REPLACED 60 ALUMINUM TO FRAME GLASS, MIN STORE COMPLY U-FACTOR = THERMALLY FRONT WITH .38, w/1" FIRE SHGC BROKEN = RATED .40 INSULATED & NATURAL NEW NEW WALL 4" COLOR EXISTING EXISTING FULL BY TIES REMAIN ASSEMBLIES STORE @ ANODIZED TEMPERED NEW CONTRACTOR NOTE: EXISTING TO FRONT 60 ALUMINUM METAL THINK METAL 18" BRICK VIF TO FRAME GLASS, OWNER w/ LIMESTONE MIN O.C.
