Call to Order, Roll Call, Establishment of a Quorum Chairman Kuharich called the meeting to order at 7:02p.m. Roll call indicated that Chairman Kuharich and Commissioners Garcia, Gsedl, Hernandez, Plumlee, Renwick, and Treudt (7:04 p.m.), were present. Also in attendance were Commission Liaison Alderwoman Alcantar-Garcia, Business & Community Relations Director Kelley Chrisse, and Events & Cultural Programs Manager Nicolette Stefan. 2. Public Participation None 3. Approval of Cultural Arts Commission Meeting Minutes: October 2, 2025 Commissioner Garcia made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Hernandez, to approve the October 2, 2025 meeting minutes. The motion carried by unanimous voice vote. 4. Items for Discussion and Possible Action a. Community Liaison Confirmation and next steps i. Ms. Stefan reviewed the list of liaisons and commissioners confirmed organization/s. Ms. Stefan will share a template that Commissioners can use to contact their organization before the next Commission meeting. b. 2026 Cultural Arts Commission Work Plan i. Records Management 1. Ms. Stefan explained the records management moving forward and confirmed that all have access. ii. Special Event Support 2026 - Initiative 5 1. The commissioners discussed Initiative 2a, the theme for the fountain basin. The members chose Blooming Fest 25th Anniversary as the theme and to incorporate flowers. 5. Other Business a. 2025 Art Banner Exhibit Close-Out i. Arrangements will be made with the People’s Choice recipient for the Gallery 200 exhibit. b. 2026 Art Banner Exhibit Status (Red White Blue/Rojo Blanco Azul Theme) i. The art submission deadline of February 2 has been added to the website. The commissioners will make contact with the juror ahead of time so he is aware of the timing. The commissioners want to ensure that in 2026, artists receive their proof of the setup. c. 2025 Loteria Status i. The program for 2025 has concluded. The form submission on the website has been disabled. Commissioners Garcia, Hernandez, and Chairman Kuharich will scrape decals off windows. There were 16 participants. d. Future Meetings i. Commissioners discussed December and January meeting dates. The December meeting will be moved to December 11, 2025 and the January meeting will be moved to January 15, 2026. A 2026 meeting calendar will be discussed at the December meeting. 6. Adjournment Commissioner Renwick made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by Commissioner Hernandez. The motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
