                   PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

                    Monday, December 15, 2025, 6:15 P.M.

1.     Call to Order, Roll Call, and Establishment of a Quorum.

      Chairman Smith called the meeting to order at 6:15pm.  Roll Call found Alderman
       Alcántar-Garcia, Aviña-Soto, Carreto-Muñoz, Morano and Santiago.

      Alderman Birch-Ferguson was not present.

2.     Approval of Minutes.


      A.     Public Affairs Committee Minutes of October 20, 2025.   Alderman Morano
      made a motion, seconded by Alderman Aviña-Soto to approve the minutes of the Public
       Affairs  Committee.  Voting  Aye:  Chairman  Smith,  Alcántar-Garcia,  Aviña-Soto,
       Carreto-Muñoz, Morano and Santiago. Voting Nay: 0. Abstain: 0. Motion carried.

3.     Public Participation / Presentations.

4.     Items for Consent.

      A.     Resolution No. 25-R-0083 – Extension of Ride DuPage Transportation Program.
      Alderman Morano made a motion, seconded by Alderman Aviña-Soto to direct this item
        to City Council for approval. Voting Aye: Chairman Smith, Alcántar-Garcia, Aviña-
       Soto, Carreto-Muñoz, Morano and Santiago. Voting Nay: 0. Abstain: 0. Motion carried.

       B.    Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce 2026 West Chicago Railroad Days
      Agreement. Alderman Aviña-Soto made a motion, seconded by Alderman Alcántar-
       Garcia to direct this item to City Council for approval. Voting Aye: Chairman Smith,
       Alcántar-Garcia, Aviña-Soto, Carreto-Muñoz, Morano and Santiago. Voting Nay: 0.
       Abstain: 0. Motion carried.

7.    New Business.

8.     Reports from Staff.

      A.    West Chicago Police Department Monthly Reports.
Alderman Santiago raised the possibility of making Kenwood Street a one-way street similar to
Hazel Street. Chief Fleury has discussed this topic with Mahul Patel, Public Works Director,
who indicated that due to the street’s narrow width and existing parking conditions, this would
not be feasible.

9.    Adjournment.  Alderman Morano made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Alderman
       Santiago. The motion was approved by voice vote, and the meeting adjourned  at
       approximately 6:34pm.
