           CULTURAL ARTS COMMISSION MINUTES
                        Thursday, February 5, 2026
                 West Chicago City Hall – 475 Main Street
                                   7:00 p.m.


1.  Call to Order, Roll Call, Establishment of a Quorum
Chairman Kuharich called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m. Roll call indicated that
Chairman Kuharich and Commissioners Plumlee, Renwick, Treudt, and Walsh were
present. Also in attendance were Commission Liaison Alderwoman Alcantar-Garcia
(7:10 p.m.), and Events & Cultural Programs Manager Nicolette Stefan.

2.  Public Participation
None

3. Approval of Cultural Arts Commission Meeting Minutes: January 15, 2026
Commissioner Walsh made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Treudt, to approve the
January 15, 2026, meeting minutes. The motion was carried by unanimous voice vote.

4.  Items for Discussion and Possible Action
         a.  Initiative 2A: Fountain Basin Artist
                             i. The Commissioners blind voted on the fountain basin artist
                     submissions. Commissioner Plumlee made a motion, seconded by
                  Commissioner Renwick, to move forward with the winning artist.
5. Other Business
         a.  2026 Art Banner Exhibit
                             i.  Staff and Commissioners discussed the mapping to be used for the
                        exhibit. The number of entries and artists was shared with the
                     group. The juror is in the process of choosing the finalists.
        b.  2027 Project updates
                             i.  Staff provided updates regarding the 2027 downtown street project
                   and potential art projects that could be available for the
                   Commission.
         c.  Initiative 5 Chalk the Walk

i.  Staff provided updates regarding the applications and flyers and
                    asked the commission to share with their liaison groups.
6. Adjournment
Commissioner Walsh made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by Commissioner
Renwick. The motion carried by a unanimous voice vote. The meeting adjourned at 7:58
p.m.
