Call to Order, Roll Call, Establishment of a Quorum Chairman Kuharich called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Roll call indicated that Chairmain Kuharich and Commissioners Garcia, Gsedl, Hernandez (7:30 p.m.), Plumlee, Renwick, Treudt, and Walsh were present. Also in attendance were Commission Liaison Alderwoman Alcantar-Garcia, and Events & Cultural Programs Manager Nicolette Stefan. 2. Public Participation None 3. Approval of Cultural Arts Commission Meeting Minutes: December 11, 2025 Commissioner Plumlee made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Walsh, to approve the December 11, 2025 meeting minutes. The motion was carried by unanimous voice vote. 4. Items for Discussion and Possible Action a. Initiative 2A Fountain Basin i. The Commissioners discussed the process by which the artist would be chosen and the deadline to turn in a sketch. The artist will be chosen at the next meeting, on February 5. The chosen artist will have to agree to the terms set by the Commission. 5. Other Business a. 2026 Art Banner Exhibit i. Staff will ensure that there is at least one more social media post and an e-news article about the upcoming deadline. Staff will work with Chairman Kuharich and Commissioner Renwick regarding juror updates. Commissioner Treudt mentioned it would be beneficial to have posters promoting the call for submissions. Commissioner Gsedl will create the poster. The Commissioners discussed the background color of the banners. The Commissioners discussed the 2027 theme. b. Community Liaison & Talent Form updates i. The Commissioners provided updates regarding the contact made with their community liaisons. c. Initiative 5 Chalk the Walk i. The Commissioners discussed the community art corner and the design. Staff will take measurements of the area and provide an update at the next meeting. 6. Adjournment Commissioner Gsedl made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by Commissioner Hernandez.
