Call to Order, Roll Call, Establishment of a Quorum Chairman Kuharich called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. Roll call indicated that Chairman Kuharich and Commissioners Gsedl, Hernandez, Plumlee, and Walsh were present. Also in attendance were Commission Liaison Alderwoman Alcantar-Garcia (7:08 p.m.), and Events & Cultural Programs Manager Nicolette Stefan. 2. Public Participation None 3. Approval of Cultural Arts Commission Meeting Minutes: March 5, 2026 Commissioner Plumlee made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Hernandez to approve the March 5, 2026, meeting minutes. The motion was carried by unanimous voice vote. 4. Items for Discussion and Possible Action None 5. Other Business a. 2026 Art Banner Exhibit next steps i. The Commissioners looked at the draft interactive map. The Commissioners discussed next steps and timeline. Staff will put together the banner announcement. b. Initiative 2A: Fountain Basin updates i. Staff provided an update regarding the fountain basin. The Commissioners would like the artist to sign her artwork, Staff to notify. c. Initiative 5 Chalk the Walk updates i. Staff provided an update about the number of Chalk the Walk artists. Commissioners discussed possible jurors. Loteria updates i. Chairman Kuharich provided updates regarding Loteria, taking place during 4 Mosaic Market nights. This will be a new spin on the previous Loteria organized by the Commission. Commissioners discussed giveaway options for the winners. e. Other business i. Commissioner Plumlee discussed the potential of no Arteculture this year, due to a lack of availability to host the event.
