Call to Order, Roll Call, Establishment of a Quorum Chairman Kuharich called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m. Roll call indicated that Chairman Kuharich and Commissioners Garcia, Gsedl, Hernandez, Plumlee (departed 7:49 p.m.), Renwick, and Treudt were present. Also in attendance were Commission Liaison Alderwoman Alcantar-Garcia, and Events & Cultural Programs Manager Nicolette Stefan. 2. Public Participation None 3. Approval of Cultural Arts Commission Meeting Minutes: February 5, 2026 Commissioner Plumlee made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Renwick, to approve the February 5, 2026, meeting minutes. The motion was carried by unanimous voice vote. 4. Items for Discussion and Possible Action a. 2026 Art Banner Exhibit review of juror banners i. The Commissioners reviewed the banners and discussed the new background banner of red, white, and blue. All Commissioners voted unanimously in a voice vote in favor of the banner background and approval of banners. 5. Other Business a. 2026 Art Banner Exhibit next steps i. The Commissioners discussed the next steps of the process. b. Initiative 2A: Fountain Basin updates i. Staff provided updates to the fountain basin, including the artist agreement being signed and the scheduling of painting. The Commissioners discussed ideas for the “unveiling.” c. Staff provided updates regarding the number of artist submissions for Chalk the Walk. d. Loteria i. Chairman Kuharich mentioned that new artists will need to be contacted. Staff suggested that this year, Loteria be incorporated into the Mosaic Market. 6. Adjournment Commissioner Treudt made a motion to adjourn, which was seconded by Commissioner Renwick. The motion carried by a unanimous voice vote.
