ITEM SUMMARY:
The West Chicago City Museum is requesting approval of a projecting sign for the City-owned building
at 200 Main Street in the Turner Junction Historic District. The space is the temporary location of the
City Museum while the Museum building undergoes renovations. The proposed projecting sign is a
cast aluminum double-sided wall-mount plaque (model AOP5) reading “West Chicago City Museum,”
with raised lettering and border. The sign will be mounted to the brick façade above the entry door.
Placement above the door was determined in coordination with City staff to maintain adequate pedes-
trian clearance, taking into account the existing fire alarm device on the building.
No changes to the building façade are proposed beyond the installation of the sign and its mounting
bracket.

Consideration of a projecting sign at 200 Main Street.
