Celebrating St. Andrews Golf & Country Club's 100th Anniversary WHEREAS, St. Andrews Golf & Country Club was established in 1926 by Frank Hough and his partners with a vision of creating a premier public golf destination that would provide exceptional golfing experiences for players of all backgrounds; and WHEREAS, for 100 years, St. Andrews Golf & Country Club has remained a fixture of the West Chicago community and a destination for golfers throughout the Chicago region; and WHEREAS, St. Andrews Golf & Country Club has been continuously owned and operated by the Jemsek-Hinckley family for five generations, making it the oldest family-owned and operated golf course in Illinois and one of the longest continuously family-owned public golf facilities in the United States; and WHEREAS, under the leadership of Joe Jemsek and subsequent generations of the Jemsek- Hinckley family, St. Andrews helped redefine public golf by making country club-quality facilities, services, and amenities accessible to the general public, establishing a model that influenced the golf industry nationwide; and WHEREAS, St. Andrews has earned a distinguished reputation for excellence, innovation, and hospitality, hosting significant golf events, welcoming legendary athletes and golf professionals, and receiving numerous local, regional, and national recognitions for its courses, practice facilities, customer service, and family business leadership; and WHEREAS, St. Andrews Golf & Country Club has welcomed more than six million rounds of golf over the past century, while providing employment opportunities, supporting charitable organizations, hosting community events, and serving generations of families throughout the region; and WHEREAS, through a century of change, St. Andrews has remained committed to preserving traditions, embracing innovation, and creating an inclusive environment where golfers of all ages and skill levels can enjoy the game; and WHEREAS, the City of West Chicago values the lasting contributions of St. Andrews Golf & Country Club and the Jemsek-Hinckley family, whose dedication, stewardship, and investment have enriched the community and enhanced the quality of life for residents and visitors alike; and WHEREAS, the City of West Chicago proudly celebrates the achievements, legacy, and enduring impact of St. Andrews Golf & Country Club as it marks its Centennial Anniversary. Daniel Bovey, Mayor ===== PDF PAGE 5 ===== [Extraction: OCR (rendered-page OCR)] Honoring the High School Girls Soccer Team — UEC 2026 Champions WHEREAS, the West Chicago Community High School District 94 Girls Soccer Team was established in 1988 and has been a member of the Upstate Eight Conference since 2019; and WHEREAS, the West Chicago Community High School District 94 Girls Soccer Team has completed its 2026 season as part of the Upstate Eight Conference; and WHEREAS, the West Chicago Community High School District 94 Girls Soccer Team was undefeated in the regular season after defeating other competing schools from the communities of Glen Ellyn, Lombard, Aurora, Bensenville, Elmwood Park, Riverside Brookfield and Norridge; and WHEREAS, the West Chicago Community High School District 94 Girls Soccer Team won the Upstate Eight Conference Final by defeating Riverside Brookfield in a 2-0 victory, becoming the 2026 Upstate Eight Conference Girls Soccer Champions; and WHEREAS, the West Chicago Community High School District Girls Soccer Team is the City of West Chicago and West Chicago Community High School District 94 female athletic team to win the Upstate Eight Conference Girls Soccer Championship since the program started; and WHEREAS, the efforts and achievements of the West Chicago Community High School District Girls Soccer Team demonstrate that great things can be accomplished through hard work and dedication.
