ITEM SUMMARY: 
Michael & Kelly Schroeder, owners of 209 E Washington Street in the East Washington Historic Dis-
trict, is requesting a Certificate of Appropriateness to remove and replace the existing roof shingles on 
the residence.  The existing shingles are asphalt and are at “end of life”.  The applicant intends to re-
shingle the residence with asphalt high definition shingles in a color to match the existing.  All work will 
be performed by a Illinois licensed roofing contractor and will secure a building permit with the City of 
West Chicago.  The City will perform the required building inspection to approve the work.          
         
ACTION PROPOSED: 
 
Consideration of removal and replacement of the asphalt roof shingles to the residence located at 200 
Fulton Street.
