Alderman Rebecca Stout called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Roll call found Aldermen Denise Carreto-Muñoz, Matthew Myers, Rebecca Stout and Christopher Swiatek present. Aldermen Sergio Santiago and Melissa Birch Ferguson were absent. Alderman Stout announced a quorum. Julieta Alcántar-García arrived at 6:09 p.m. Also in attendance was Community Development Director, John Sterrett. 2. Public Participation – None. 3. Items for Review and Recommendation to the City Council A. Review and Recommendation of Ordinance 26-O-0012 – An Ordinance Granting a Special Use Permit, requested by Giran Corporation, for a Motor Vehicle Repair Shop at 1010 Town Road in the M Manufacturing District. B. Review and Recommendation of Ordinance 26-O-0013 – An Ordinance Granting a Second Extension to an existing approved Special Use Permit, requested by BAP Power Corporation d/b/a Cenergy Power, for an Alternative Electric Supply Facility (solar farm) at 220 Kress Road in the A Airport District. C. Review and Recommendation of Resolution 26-R-0062 – A Resolution Authorizing the Mayor to Execute a Release of Declaration of Deed Restriction, requested by SFG West Chicago, LLC, for 348 Charles Court in the M Manufacturing District. Alderman Myers requested Item 4.A. be pulled from the Consent Agenda for further discussion. Alderman Swiatek moved, and Alderman Carreto-Muñoz seconded the motion to approve Items 4.B and 4.C. The petitioner, Inga Orolin of Giran Corporation, was recognized to address the members. She spoke about her company’s history in the area and their commitment to being a good neighbor. Questions regarding their request for a Special Use were asked and answered. Alderman Swiatek moved, and Alderman Myers seconded the motion to approve Items 4.A. Alderman Swiatek moved, and Alderman Myers seconded the motion to approve the minutes. Voting Aye: Aldermen Alcántar-García, Carreto-Muñoz, Myers, Stout and Swiatek. 7. Reports from Staff John Sterrett apprised the members about various projects underway in the City. Mr. Sterrett made mention of a proposed apartment complex and town-home development in preliminary talks to be located on Joliet Street, south of Roosevelt Road. This prompted some discussion among the Committee. 8. Adjournment Alderman Swiatek moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:15 p.m., and Alderman Myers seconded the motion.
