                CITY OF WEST CHICAGO – 475 Main Street-
                        CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
                                Regular Meeting
                               August 3, 2026

1. Call to Order. City Administrator Viviana Ramirez called the meeting to order at
7:04 p.m. on August 3, 2026.

2. Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Pro Tem Julieta Alcántar-García led all in the Pledge
of Allegiance.

3. Roll Call and Establishment of a Quorum.

A timely and proper request to attend remotely from Alderman Swiatek and Aviña Soto.
There was no objection from the City Council.

Alderman Dimas made a motion to approve the remote attendance of Alderman
Swiatek and Aviña Soto, seconded by Alderman Stout.

Voting Aye by Roll Call: Beebe, Alcántar-García, Stout, Dimas, Sheahan, Hernandez,
Smith, Morano, and Myers. Motion carried.

Roll call found Dan Beebe, Julieta Alcántar-García, Rebecca Stout, Sandy Dimas,
Jayme Sheahan, Tracey Hernandez, John Smith, Jr., Christopher Swiatek, Joseph C.
Morano, Carlos Aviña Soto, and Matthew Myers were present. Aldermen Melissa Birch
Ferguson, Denise Carreto-Muñoz, Sergio Santiago were absent.

Also in attendance City Administrator Viviana Ramirez, Assistant City Administrator Tia
Messino, Business & Community Relations Director Kelley Chrisse, Community
Development Director John Sterrett, Chief of Police Colin Fleury, Public Works Director
Mehul Patel and Attorney Kevin Sterk.

4. Public Participation.

   A. Evelyn Canabal – Ms. Canabal spoke against data centers.
   B. Presentation – Updated Downtown Modernization and Beautification Project
      Design Following Public Engagement

Public Works Director Mehul Patel made the presentation.

5. Discussion and Possible Action to Approve the City Council Meeting Minutes
of July 20, 2026.

Alderman Beebe made a motion to approve the City Council Meeting Minutes of July
20, 2026, seconded by Alderman Myers.

Voting Aye by Roll Call: Beebe, Alcántar-García, Stout, Dimas, Sheahan, Hernandez,
Swiatek, Smith, Morano, Aviña Soto, and Myers. Motion carried.
