Mercedes Arroyo Gonzalez, owner of 207 Main Street, is requesting approval of a Certificate of Appropriateness to remove and replace the existing awnings on the front of the building. The building is a one-story commercial structure with and attached two story structure. The applicant intends to remove the awnings and frames and replace them in the same locations. Each awning will contain Sunbrella fabric with black color. The awnings will contain the name of the new business. Please see attached photos and scope of work for more detail. 207 Main Street is a Vernacular Commercial building constructed in 1895-1905 andis currently a commercial restaurant space. It is a non-contributing building and will continue to be a commercial restaurant.
