Sergio Santiago Appointed to City Council Ward 2
During their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, June 16, the Mayor of West Chicago, Daniel Bovey, and the City Council appointed Sergio Santiago as Alderman of Ward 2 for an unexpired term. The appointee will serve until the next regular election (April 2027), at which point the position will be elected by the voters.
Alderman Santiago’s duties include adopting ordinances and resolutions, approving the City’s annual budget, and enacting tax levies as part of the fourteen-member non-partisan City Council. Additionally, he will serve on two of the four Standing Committees of the City Council: the Development and Public Affairs Committees.
The West Chicago’s City Council meets on the first and third Mondays of each month at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 475 Main Street, unless otherwise indicated. An interactive map of the City Council wards is available on the City’s website.
