The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced that resurfacing of Garys Mill Road, from Neltnor Boulevard (Illinois 59) to Roosevelt Road (Illinois 38) in West Chicago, will begin Wednesday, September 17, 2025, weather permitting. The project will require intermittent daytime lane closures throughout construction.
Project Scope
The project, administered by IDOT District 1, includes:

Removal and replacement of the hot-mix asphalt surface

Spot curb and gutter removal and replacement

Drainage structure adjustments

Construction of new ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps

Placement of thermoplastic pavement markings
The work will be performed by R.W. Dunteman Company of Addison, IL.
Timeline and Access
Construction is expected to be completed by December 2025, weather permitting. Access to residences and businesses within the work zone will be maintained at all times.
