City Administrator Recruitment Update: Community Forum Scheduled for January 30
The City of West Chicago continues to move forward in the recruitment process for the next City Administrator. Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the Community Survey and share input. Your feedback helped shape the qualities and priorities the City is looking for in its next leader, and it continues to play an important role in this process.
Following the Community Survey, a Selection Committee reviewed the applications received and recommended six candidates to advance to interviews. After completing interviews, the committee recommended three candidates to move forward in the process.
As the next step, the remaining candidates will participate in additional interviews with City department heads and the City Council. Each candidate will also have the opportunity to meet with interested community members during a public Community Forum.
Community input remains important at this stage. The City Administrator serves as the City’s chief administrative officer, supporting the Mayor and City Council by managing day-to-day operations and ensuring City services are delivered effectively. Participating in the Community Forum gives residents, businesses, and community partners a meaningful opportunity to hear directly from the finalists, ask thoughtful questions, and provide feedback to help inform the Mayor and City Council as they consider the next appointment.
