Showcase Culture at Mosaic Market
Call for Cultural Organizations/Groups
The City of West Chicago is seeking organizations to help bring cultural experiences to our Mosaic Market, held Thursday evenings from June 4 through August 20, 4:00-7:00 PM in Downtown West Chicago.
We are exploring different cultures to be represented at these events! If your group or organization has ties to European, African, Latino, Asian cultures, trains/railroad heritage, nerd culture, anime, or other unique cultural communities, we would love to connect with you.Participating organizations will have the opportunity to showcase their culture through an interactive experience, such as:
- Cultural games
- Hands-on crafts
- Demonstrations
- Interactive educational activities
- Cultural traditions or storytelling
- Performance
This is a great opportunity to highlight your organization, share your culture with the community, and gain exposure at a vibrant weekly downtown market.
Interested organizations should include:
- Organization name
- Culture represented
- Brief description of the activity or experience you would offer

Call for Vendors
The City of West Chicago and Bensidoun USA, are seeking culturally inspired vendors to participate in the Mosaic Market, a vibrant weekly market celebrating creators, culture, and community in Downtown West Chicago. Vendor applications are now open. West Chicago residents and businesses will receive priority consideration during the month of March and will also receive a 25% booth fee discount.
What Does It Mean to Be a Culturally Inspired Vendor?
A culturally inspired vendor is a creator or seller whose products reflect a cultural tradition, heritage, or community influence. These vendors often incorporate storytelling, symbolism, or historical context into their craft, creating meaningful connections between their products and the cultures that inspire them. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your work in a lively downtown setting while connecting with the community.
Culturally inspired products may:
- Tell a story about a culture, tradition, or lived experience
- Reflect historical techniques, symbols, or artistic styles
- Celebrate shared communities or fandoms (such as gaming, anime, sci-fi, or other cultural communities)
- Preserve or reinterpret traditional crafts
- Blend modern creativity with cultural roots
