“We the People” Exhibit Open at 200 Main Street
Residents and visitors are invited to experience a new collaborative exhibit bringing together art and local history in downtown West Chicago.
The West Chicago City Museum and Gallery 200 have partnered to present “We the People,” a joint exhibition now on display at 200 Main Street. The exhibit explores the many meanings of the phrase “We the People” through local stories, lived experiences, and creative expression.
The exhibition is part of the nationwide America 250 initiative marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. Through a combination of artwork and historical interpretation, the exhibit reflects on how the ideals of community, identity, and civic participation continue to shape West Chicago today.
By bringing together artists from Gallery 200 and historical materials from the City Museum, the exhibit creates a unique opportunity for visitors to explore how art and history intersect to tell the story of a community.
The opening reception for the exhibit was held on Friday, March 6. If you missed it, the exhibit will be open to the public through April 4 during the following hours:
- Thursdays: 3:00 – 7:00 p.m.
- Saturdays: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
(Closed Easter week)
Beginning April 9, expanded hours will be offered as City Museum operations resume regular programming at 200 Main Street:
- Thursdays & Fridays: 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Saturdays: 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
