Rental licensing
Rental properties generally require a current City license and inspection. Landlords should use the current new-license or renewal process and address inspection findings before occupancy.
For tenants
Ask to see the current rental license, keep your lease and report unresolved maintenance conditions to Community Development. The City addresses property conditions; rent, deposits, eviction and lease disputes are generally civil matters.
Buying, selling or changing title
Confirm inspection or exemption requirements, final water reading, City balances and deed certification before closing. As-is purchases may have additional agreements, repairs or security requirements. Confirm all amounts and deadlines with the City.
Foreclosed or vacant property
Mortgagees or responsible parties may need to register through the current City contractor. Confirm applicability and fees before filing.
Cemeteries
The City maintains Glen Oak and Oakwood cemeteries. Use the official name search and contact the City Sexton for records or purchasing information; Calvary Cemetery has a separate operator.
